I started M Commerce Retail with one simple belief — that good trade is built on direct relationships, not layers of middlemen. Growing up in Dharashiv, I watched our farmers grow some of the finest pulses and grains in Maharashtra, and I always felt there was a better way to connect that produce to the people who needed it most.
The import side came first. We built relationships directly with exporters in Madagascar for cloves, Sri Lanka for mace — cutting out intermediaries so our buyers in India get better quality at competitive prices. It took time to earn that trust, but it is the foundation everything else is built on.
The export journey started because of a question I could not stop asking: why are we in Dharashiv — one of Maharashtra's richest agricultural districts — sending our jaggery and dal through five middlemen before it reaches someone in Dubai or New York? That question led to Vijaya Lakshmi Foods.
We are not a large trading house. We are a small team that works directly with farmers we know by name, processes what we sell, and stands behind every shipment. That is our edge, and we are proud of it.
